Mary Maddox
I've been a running mom for almost two years now. After having my second baby, running gave me a way to focus on myself and lose that baby weight. It has not only made me physically stronger, it has made me emotionally and mentally stronger too. All of these improvements make me a better wife and a better mom!

Thoughts From a Runner
A good friend of mine sent me some thoughts her husband recently wrote down after one of his morning runs. I thought I'd share.
Gentlemen...Friends...Fellow Runners!
May is here. The snow has long since melted. And the weather is pristine. The early morning temperature was a cool, comfortable 63 degrees with a slight early morning breeze. The birds were singing and the traffic noise was at an all time low. The sun was peeking through the early morning clouds soon to dissipate throughout the day. It was 5:30am and I was hitting the pavement. 3 miles of continuous 'thumping' like a rhythmic metronome playing on a piano. There is nothing better than to see your neighbors driving by on their way to work, looking at you as if you are crazy. There is no better way to celebrate the day than an early morning run.
Gentlemen...winter is long gone...spring is here...summer is soon approaching. Just like the old Tiger Woods' commercial..."I am Tiger Woods!" Allow me to introduce myself, "I am Craig Seba!" No excuses!!! Get your butt out there and run!!!

Falling Behind On My Training - The Usual
As usual I find myself falling behind on my training. Not sure who I am kidding...I might be considered a newbie again at this rate. The 15k is quickly approaching in May. I haven't ran much over the last three months due to the stress fracture and time constraints. Here is the modified plan (I modified it yesterday to match the time I have left) that I am going to use. I think I might be able to speed up weeks 1-3 and add more time at the end...but who am I kidding, t-ball and other activities including spring break will pop up during the middle of this plan. I hope to be able to finish this as is and enjoy the Biltmore run!
Happy Running!
