ONLINE REGISTRATION HAS JUST BEEN EXTENDED TO THURSDAY, MAY 20TH! The Barefoot Music Festival 5K is fast approaching! The race is being held at Compass Lake in the Hills on HWY 231 between Panama City, Florida and Dothan, Alabama. It will take place on May 22nd in conjunction with the Barefoot Music Festival which will feature numerous performing artists. Artists such as The Springs, Emerald County Line, Rebel Syndicate, Lighthouse, Patsy Cline Tribute, Keely Raquel Band, Scott Walters Blues and Jazz, and the very popular country music band Shenandoah! Participants who enter the 5K will receive a FREE TICKET for both days into the event! In addition, race participants will have the opportunity to win raffle items and will enjoy a commemorative race day screen printed sun visor while supplies last. Pre-registration ends on May 20th so DON’T DELAY. You will be able to save time and money by pre-registering. You may pre-register at Active with no extra fees. The pre-registration cost for the event is $20.00 and race day registration is $25.00. Race day registration begins at 7:00 a.m. C.S.T. the morning of May 22nd. Registration and packet pick up will take place next to Compass Lake in the Hills lodge at the tennis courts. There will be signs posted to direct you to where you need to go.
Race awards will be given for the standard five year age division categories. Trophies will also be awarded to the overall male and female runners and overall “barefoot” male and female runners. Barefoot runners are runners who run without shoes or who wear Vibram Five Fingers. The course has nice flat grassy shoulders and two off course loops with sand for those who wish for a less impactful running terrain. We encourage all walkers and runners of all ages and capabilities to enter this race. The course features plenty of beautiful scenery! It will be an enjoyable event for all.
