I went running today at 2:45, dumb right? Let me explain...it has been cloudy all day with a wonderful breeze, so I decided to take advantage before the rain did; but wouldn't you know it, about half a mile down the road, the sun split the clouds. I actually laughed out loud at this, because I should have known, this IS me we're talking about. So I decided to make up a game, and this is how you play: while in the sun, run as fast as YOU can (I am pointing at each of you individually), then when you get to the shade, slow down to a jog, a shuffle, or even a walk to recover. Simple, right? Yes, very simple. Make the shade last as long as possible, and make quick work of the sun. This will get you through to the end, it makes it fun (sort of), and it keeps your mind on the "game" and off of the heat. And as an added bonus, it turns your daily run into speedwork!

Running
I think there is too much emphasis placed on the distinction between the people in the front and the people in the back. I happen to feel the sensations are exactly the same for all of us.
